Hello folks. I snagged a Fremont Jack from the recent drop only to find out that my wife also bought me one for my birthday next month (d'oh--ruined the gift AND she bought me the denim micarta, which I like a bit less!)
Needless to say I want to move along the black linen micarta that I just received. Only taken out of the baggie to inspect, comes with baggie/slip/coin. This is an excellent specimen. Smooth transitions from covers to bolsters, no gaps in springs, perfectly centered blade with absolutely no wobble, and a smooth 5 pull. The walk and talk is good, but action is a bit gritty--I've had this on other Fremonts and it resolved easily by flushing with mineral oil. I have not done this to maintain it as BNIB, but if the buyer wishes I can. I also want to point out that the spring is proud in the half stop position. Flush in open and closed.
