Catching Rabbits in a Box Trap

Here in California IIRC, you can actually violate several laws just catching a nuisance wild animal. My first impulse would be to call the good folks at animal control, but on reflection I'd probably just put him and his cage in my truck and release him in one of the nearby national parks. I'd rig the trap to open by pulling on a rope from inside my truck, just in case. Unless I took him to a vet and had him put down "humanely", there could be animal cruelty charges. BTW I have a gun, but I'm saving all of my ammo for zombies :)

You might try vanilla extract for bait It works on groundhogs and they eat about the same things (young ones tast like rabbit)

coote: I will leave the back open with hardware cloth to help the baits scent to escape but first and foremost so I may see the predator.. and take care of him onsight...

I can see my neighbors houses from afar :D so I'm good.... have shooting range here so bangs are no problems..

btw, I just caught a coon today..
