Here's something I thought might be appreciated here: the kris in the hands of two of the Church's big shots. The statues are of colonial Philippine origin, and were included in the Pacific Asia Museum's "Images of Faith: Religious Ivory Carvings from the Philippines," from whose exhibition catalog the pix were scanned.
I wonder if kris-wielding 'santos' statues are still available in the Islands -- perhaps someone here knows?
