I'd gone out shopping to the local Walmart . Fully clothed , but FEELING naked when I reached for my pocket knife and came up empty .

After a frenzied self frisking , I determined that I was fully equipped ,except ...NO KNIFE . For some strange reason , this upset me way more than forgetting any of my other gear .

I tried to reason with myself , but ended up going straight to the sporting goods area of the Walmart . I found a nice Tanto Blur , paid for and pocketed right at the counter .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Since then , I carry TWO folders and keep a couple of spare extras in my car "trouble bag " .

So, how would YOU have reacted = No big deal or immediate remedial action ? o_O

I keep a Victorinox Classic on my key ring. If I am away from the house, I always have a knife.
That's a great idea ! Hard to drive away from home without your keys . Good excuse to buy another knife , also . :p

ya, a micra and a buck mini/kershaw cinder on my keys. two knife minimum for the push button start to work ;)

It almost happened to me last weekend. Got to the car and my wife was not impressed that I ran back into the house.

It was a close one. Just imagine all the things that could have happened requiring me to use a knife and me being unprepared. I can't live with that kind of stress.

My vic classic on my keyring is my only true edc knife. No matter what it is always with me.

My only big issue is that the knife opens the wrong way, on the same side the keys are hung onto.

Well Its only happened to me a few times and even then it didn't really happen.

Last week I was walking buttercup when I realized my case sodbuster Jr had again slipped out of my pocket when sitting on the couch ( the one knife that doesn't like my pockets, and only comes out on the couch )
I felt weird not having my knife in my pocket, but I knew my Vic classic was still in my pocket and my leatherman Fuse on my belt as always.

boy July 7th is going to suck.
I'm going to the Great America amusement park as I was given a pair of tickets , it will be as fun as an amusement park can really be butthey allow no knives.
I just know there will be some kind of snack package that's hard to open so like an animal I'll have to use my teeth.
Sure they don't actually check what's on your keys ,there's no legal issues as it's just a policy thing , and I'd just be risking a 10 min walk to take something off and put it in the truck if they did catch it, but as much as I don't like it I'll just have to deal with it.

I always have two knives on me, but I can understand how you felt.

Once, quite awhile back, I was in a rush getting ready for work and forgot my primary folder. Didn't notice until I needed a knife. Felt odd having to use my waved Matriarch 2.

I got a lot of "wtf is that thing" and "when did you get it" questions from the guys. I just told them I've always carried it, they just never saw it.

For a few months after that when they would ask to borrow my knife they would request the "bada$$" one.

You are in a Walmart! Remedial action is required asap.
 We live way out in a area with more wildlife than people and feel real lucky to have a Walmart . Great outdoor recreation , zero upscale shopping . ;)

And it just gets worse as you go along......I carry 2, one smaller and one larger. Last week I was in a rush and left with just the smaller Rat 1 in my coin pocket without putting the Large Lum down the side pocket. As I was driving away, I realized there was a disturbance in the Force, as if a knife cried out that it was left behind. Disconcerting, to say the least.

I keep an A.G.Russell 2 1/2" Ti lockback in a little pocket of my wallet. It's always there if I forget to carry a primary; but that almost never happens. I do understand the uncomfortable feeling of not having a knife on me even though I realize it's kind of irrational.

I think we all have forgotten our knives at one time or another. It feels like ...I let my cell phone at home and I am expecting a call.... Solution: Put something small on your keychain and assuming you drove, you have it with you even if you forgot your favorite knife that day. At least you can cut something if you have to. I keep a Leatherman Ps4 Squirt on my keychain (one for each vehicle I drive). Not my favorite cutting tool, but it's there if I need it.

I have a small backup on my keyring with a Python Clip:

And an even tinier backup backup in my wallet:
