It started innocently enough in January. I decided I need a new knife so I bought a kershaw leek. Descent knife but next I decided to buy a cricket then a poliwog, then I stumbled in to my local knife store and picked up a salt 1--yesterday my new civilian and captain arrived in the mail. Once I started with the spyderco's it just seems there is an endless amount of models I need. How do I regualte myself?

Howdy drfoil!:)

I use to stop an wonder "why do I need so many frickin knives?"

But then I realized that I'm a freak that's into sharp stuff, and it makes me happy!

If it makes you happy, buy knives, as long as you don't break the bank doing so ;)

i just bought a g10 byrd robin the other day, and ive been fascinated by it ever since. i havent been able to put it down. i cant wait to get the frn version now, and possibly a fully serrated g10 one. they are both pretty cheap too. if u like some of the smaller knives, the g10 robin is awesome inmop. i also like the look of the blade on the robin more than the meadowlark, as the blade looks fatter were the meadowlark and cara cara have narrower blades.

The same here, a year and hallf ago I decided I need a Leatherman. Now I have one Leatherman, 29 Spydercos and I need more. So I will follow the advice of Axlis.

yea good advice from all-- as long as it doesn't break the bank why not-- it is nice to have a forum to discuss it though thanks all

Welcome to the club! Now I'd run to the Bay a grab a yo before they all get gone. I have one as a user, now I need to get another to put up incase I lose it. I love the YO. Also pick up a mini manix, but I know this model will be out for a long time. I'm also searchin for a plain edge dodo. Not super rare, but kind of hard to find now days.

O right, I'm sorry I was going to tell you how NOT addicting these spyde's are.

There is only one solution known and proven to work...send me all of your spydercos. :D

there are some real treasures in spydercos byrd line, and all of them are under $30. so if you are strapped for cash, check out some of the byrds. man, is it true that they are going to make an frn or g10 version of the byrd crossbill? an frn or g10 crossbill would be insane! that would be your 30 dollar superhawk right there.

so-lo kustoms-yea i need a plain edge dodo dodo also and thanks for the advice about the yo--I've been looking at those too--ah to hell with it the more the better right

Hello every body,

drfoil, I just couldn't resist not to reply to your post. I started collecting Spyderco (had a Recon 1 and Voyager before that) end of last year. First it was a Para (PE), than a Pacific Salt (PE), Mini Manix (PE), Caly 3 (PE), Mili (CE) and last month just got a Calypso Jr. ZDP 189. Now I'm looking forward to purchase Endura ZDP189 in CE. drfoil, you are right.

Axlis 13, I agre with you.

The best solution is to get a better paying job or at least hassle your boss for a raise. The more money you make, the more you can spend on knives. I just got a huge raise last week, and I'm already thinking about what to spend the extra money on. (Bring on the Forester!) I was more than able to pay all of my bills before, so my knife budget has just gone way, way up. My stupid mistake was in telling my wife I got a raise, so she may get some ideas about how the money should be spent.

There's no cure for the knife bug. Don't even bother trying to quit. I just picked up a(nother) new Endura 4 (this one's fully serrated) and a Benchmade automatic over the weekend, and I'm already hungry for more.
It's better than crack, I guess.

The only 'cure' for knife mania is more knives(short term fix I like it)
Otherwise, it will be with you till the end......

You're in deep now.

However, you have the good taste of figuring out early that there is no better company to spend your hard earned pennies with then Sal and his crew at Spyderco.

Hands down the most ethical, honest and loyal to their customers of any company I've dealt with. It almost makes buying knives easier, knowing that the money is going to such a great company.

I don't buy anything but Spyderco anymore for some of the reasons listed above. Quality, innovation and customer service are the remaining factors.

I received through the mail today my new D'allara (PE) and Endura 4 ZDP (CE). Now I'm already thinking about what to buy next:rolleyes: CF Caly 3 in ZDP 189 may be...:D

Just don't buy Spydercos on credit cards, make sure you have enough to pay your bills each month, and learn to stop going out to eat as much...

Or get a higher paying job, and you'll be fine.
