rubino is purposely misleading potential Buyers by omission. I sold him this knife and gave full disclosure. It’s been used by the previous owner and the sheath was modified with a hair dryer by the previous owner.

I'll let the pics speak for the knife...

This statement is Dishonest and weasel words.

I’m greatly offended by his behavior and think potential Buyers should be aware.

robino just listed this:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/967806-fs-Krein-2011-necker

fs: Krein 2011 necker
Need to finance an expensive Bowie purchase and have to release a couple knives I just recently got...
3" blade, 6.25" overall - very ergonomic grip

Stropped this one for about 30 minutes last night, super sharp BEEFY A2 blade black micarta w/red liners. I'll let the pics speak for the knife...

My Listing and robino bought this knife:
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/965181-SPF-Burt-Foster-Blue-Collar-Hunter

Sold: 1) A 2011 Tom Krein Personal Survival Knife aka PSK with a Spear Point:

- OAL 6.375”
- 2.875" Flat Ground A2 blade
- Spear Point
- 3/16” Blade Thickness
- 1 1/8” Blade Depth
- Full Tang
- Grooves in the tope for thumb traction
- Black Micarta with Red Liners
- Aluminum Pin
- Aluminum Thong Tube
- Kydex Sheath

The knife is in excellent condition and had been lightly used by the previous owner. Mostly just Kydex scratches from the sheath- the scratches from the Kydex are more noticible than any marks from use.

The previous previous owner adjusted the Kydex Sheath- They took a hair dryer to the back as visible by the shiny spot. It opened the sheath by about 1/8th inch. If you’ve had a Tom Krein before (to me) there’s a distinctive Snap as the knife is inserted. This one lacks the snap but holds the knife securely- it’s not coming out unless you want it out.

The previous selling didn’t even mention this fact but I was aware of it because I had contacted the previous previous seller and they mentioned it.

There's way too many good people here for me to let this go without speaking up.

I contacted him and he doesn't know what I'm talking about- You be the judge My Conscience is clear.

Well I can see from his pics that the knife isnt perfect and he doesnt state that it is NIB. Did you two not have a good transaction?

Where does he say it's in new condition? The knife looks to be still in excellent shape to me and a bargain price for one of Tom's knives.

The fact that he says he stropped it indicates that its not new and virginous, and I think I see a couple of faint marks (kydex?) on the blade next to the "A2" stamp. And he doesn't say its new either.

I don't see any misrepresentation. Everything looks cool to me. JMO.

I see no problems. Let the seller ask the questions if they have any concerns. He never attempted to pass it as "new" and admitted to sharpening it. I see no issue here. Though full disclosure is always nice

Clearly Stated in My ad and told to him when he bought it.

"The previous previous owner adjusted the Kydex Sheath- They took a hair dryer to the back as visible by the shiny spot."

Opening a GBU thread and sullying the man's reputation over that was overkill and unnecessary.

As others have said, he never represented the knife as new and as such he has not misrepresented his position. It would have been nice to know that the sheath had been adjusted but that is hardly cause for this thread.

I really don't know what I did to piss off this guy, other than help him out when he needed to sell his knife

Sent him the money, he sent me the knife, all was well...I thought

I since got an email from Cas who sent me some pics of a new San Mai Bowie i cannot resist...so since this and another older knife were the 'extras' i figured i'd throw them up f/s

Last night I went out to the pool with my wife and while she blabbered about whatever it was...I softly and carefully put a razor sharp edge with 1200 wet/dry, then stropped it with green paste and it came out beautifully, some of the faint light scratches it had even came out, they're barely noticeable.

The sheath? It's perfect. I don't see what is there to disclose, it holds the knife safely, in fact so good...that i tied up some paracord and made it a necker, tied a turk head loop for the pinky to sit inside...and made an already good knife great.

Threw it up f/s only to find 2 PM's saying I am unethical and when i asked what exactly did I do that's unethical, he said "you'll find out soon enough"...i suppose he was referring to this thread that he started.

So, I dunno...I guess haters will hate, no matter what you do, feel free and enjoy your discussion. I got better things to do, lol

i don't think that this listing is being dishonest at all, he never states its new or otherwise NIB, he may have left out details but if you see something in the pic that you need to question then ask the seller and if then he doesn't give the info that's dishonest but as it looks to me i think its a fine listing. i think the OP of this thread should get an infraction for even starting trouble like this for no reason!

if anything, i haven't seen that many people post pics as clear and visible as mine. If i was trying to hide something, it would show in the pics...I just took a bunch of more pics and will post them in the ad, so there's no question as to what the buyer is getting...

hopefully, it will be to the original poster's liking this time

wow

someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed

I think the OP is on the rag

I think the listing is well done..nice pictures very nice. Looks like a good package. Adjusting the sheath to ones liking is not a crime.

i think you owe me an apology for trying to defame my name with no good reason

we all have our bad days, but this was uncalled for...

I forgave you already, but to hear you say sorry would be nice.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the issue here either. He doesn't say the knife is new. The pics are better than most I've seen on the Exchange.

shouldn't have been an issue.
i got the knife dull...

did a bit of work to get it to shave hair, tied up a couple paracord strings, polished the blade a bit on the strop, got it to where it was supposed to be

not just that, but just cause I got a good deal doesn't mean i can't make a buck on it, no? Buyer got a deal I think, knife has been Sold

i guess there won't be an apology...the op should at least be given a slap on the hand by the admins, so we don't just go around starting threads in hopes of staining people's names without justification

seems he has conveniently disappeared now that he has done his part

Thanks for all the meaningful discussion and insight I really appreciate it and will put it to good use.

I do stand by my original impression and thoughts- Caveat Emptor.

Thanks Mitch
