cbkc

The REAL run of CBKCs had the club logo etched on the blade. Any knife that looks the same but does not have the CBKC logo is a follow on that was made later. I think the real CBKC khukuris were made in 1990 or 1991.

Khukuri FAQ

The pic of the CBKC on eBay doesn't show a club logo, but has the HI logo engraved on the blade, which my BirGorkha version doesn't, and also has a wider blade profile, so could be original. For those who wonder if limited runs of modern khukuris have investment potential, the 4th Ed. of Levine's Guide to Knives and Their Values, in the section on Knife Club Limited Edition Knives, says the 1994 run of 21 CBKC "Himalayan Import kuhkri"s (even BL has problems with Nepalese spelling

), with an issue price of $70, has a current (1997) value of $100.

Thanks for usual good info, Berk. You're hired! Again!!

That 1994 date sounds wrong to me. Next time I get a call from CBKC I'll ask and try to get the date of the run.

Khukuri FAQ

The answer to that runs from definitely yes to "...sometimes I wonder" depending on Bill's love hate relationship with the kamis.

I don't think he's got a batch yet with horn bolster and buttcap, and the brass part in the center of the handle, ( as opposed to brass buttcap and bolster with horn center of the handle like the pictures, but who knows what will be in the next shipment.

Now watch Bill start pulling his hair and praying he doesn't get a half dozen orders for reversed handle khuks.

John Moses designed it, I trust it, and that settles it.
