One of my recently acquired polished CC blades have a tiny hole near its center. What is it for? My other has no hole.

Tiny hole Nakano? Not the large hole for gripping? This was some of the early ones that the idea was kicked around into making a survival kit fit into a EQ-Bag or V-Stat Bag...this is a CC Blade that doubles as a signal mirror.

Er, no Don. The big hole is of course for gripping. I am indeed referring to the very tiny one near its middle. A signal mirror? Hmmm... Actually I thought it was to serve as an indentation/ anchoring point for the metal clip used in the current CC blades that come with the wallet. BTW can one purchase a clip and wallet seperately to compliment a CC? Thanks for responding.

Nakano,

If the hole is roughly the diameter of a stick pin, it is indeed a signal mirror/CCB. When I don't know something, I promise you I will direct you to the ever-lurking Rennie Raines or James himself...call Rennie if you do not believe me.

Don, it is indeed the size of a stick pin. It makes much sense for a signal mirror use. I am still curious to know if that wallet and clip is available seperately. And how it functions.

Nakano,

The clip will not work on that CCB you have, it does not have a hole larger enough for the clip to be attached. The attachment of the clip is via a Chicago Screw..2 piece screw.

I talked to James Sunday...you do not want to change the CCb you have...there were only about 10 of them made.

Buy the new CCB if you wish, it is a great uniot, I carry one every day...do you need more information on the mechanics of that particular piece?

I can tell you one thing, if someone takes your wallet from you, and I have tried this on blade and non-blade people, and it has always worked...if they take that wallet, the CCB is left in your hand, 100%...it is so simple and works beautifully...
