For those of you who have a CCL, what`s your choice of handgun and holster? I`m still up in the air about whether or not to get a CCL, but am interested in your choices.
I've got a permit,but no pistols anymore.
I hate wearing a belt so my carry options were limited and is why I carried a KelTek P32 in my EDC pack & back pocket in a non printing pocket holster.
Around town I carry my Glock 36 in a Crossfire Impulse holster. I choose the Glock because it offers what I consider to be a good compromise of caliber and concealability. I wanted a holster that was made in the USA and comfortable with minimal weight which the Crossfire is. Hiking I have several options but my favorite lightweight is a S&W 351PD in a hip pocket holster. Anything larger than the 351PD is carried in my woods-bumming bag.
I carry a Glock 17 at 1 o'clock in an appendix inside the waistband holster. Been carrying this way for years. For me it is super comfortable and easy to conceal full size pistols.
S&W 442 with front pocket holster for the work week while wearing khakis. For other days when I'm wearing jeans or more casual, it's my PPK with an iwb hoster from the online auction site.
Off duty carry as follows
Glock 19
Kimber ultra carry 9mm
S&W model 38
Seecamp
Ruger lcp
All carried in JW Orourke holsters, both tanned leather and some exotics
Taurus PT111 in a Fobus injection molded polymer holster, I like the gun, it's a consistent shooter, is compact, light and the da only trigger is super safe and I'm very comfortable keeping one in the pipe.
The holster is secure it holds the gun securely, you actually have to push against the holster with your thumb as you withdraw, it's really difficult to just reach and pull.
I've been carrying like that for the last 15 years with no problems.
glock 19 in homemade kydex. imo it's the best set up out there. cheap and rugged. reholstering is easy and you know when it's in with out looking. it's much more locked into place than leather imo. spare mag at the 6 or so. nice set of night sights on it and that's all you really need.
Sig 229 in a Bladetech injection molded holster, outside the waistband. Taurus 609 (iirc - 5-shot .357) in a pocket holster, the one with the square piece attached to it that folds away a little when you grip the gun to remove it from your pocket.
