It is a crying shame that so many are so eager to infringe upon our rights. What you're seeing in Illinois is just one more example of tyranny in action - though I believe that particular measure was tabled (if I'm recalling the latest blurb correctly).
The first thing to remember is the fact that none of these proposals (or laws, for that matter) will do a darn thing to improve safety. That isn't their desire - though they do sometimes pretend safety is one of the benefits of our enslavement.
The sole purpose behind Second Amendment attacks is control.
It isn't about controlling guns, deaths, or even accidents.
It is entirely about controlling you.
If it wasn't, the gun-grabbers wouldn't continue pushing the same disproven measures; they'd be pushing new ideas that were designed to increase responsible ownership while decreasing irresponsible actions.
At one time the NRA would teach safety classes in any school that wanted them. That may still be the case, but very few schools are willing to even consider such reasonable action.
Speaking frankly; we shouldn't even be having such discussions (with regards to gun control whims).
Those measures are illegal usurpations of power and infringements upon our rights. That really should be the end of it: the 2nd Amendment clearly prohibits the infringement and the 10th Amendment clearly prohibits the usurpation.
We're too nice and they're too thirsty for control. It's past time that we wised up and took our rights seriously, and it is long past time that we stop letting them (the gun-grabbers) pretend a discussion is needed.
It's like two wolves and a sheep discussing what is for dinner.
You don't have discussions with people who are trying to harm you. You take action to immediately stop them from harming you.
And make no mistake: they are trying to harm you.
Gun control has a long history of accomplishments - all of them bad for those being controlled and fantastic for those actually doing the controlling.
Ask yourself why the gun-grabbers are emulating some of history's most reviled dictators. Then ask yourself if you think their victims appreciated the outcome.
You are the sheep. Right now you have the ability to protect yourself from the two wolves. Is it any wonder why those wolves want you disarmed?
