CCW pocket carry/ankle carry

If you would consider .380, and it has come a long way in ballistics, I love my Colt Mustang XSP for pocket carry. Light, small, familiar to a "1911 guy" and when you fire it you know where the money went.

Good luck - you have myriad great choices in the market today; pick one you like and train train train.

I'm not really a fan of ankle carry... for the simple reason it makes whatever weapon (firearm or otherwise) you've got down there rather difficult (at least in my opinion) to access quickly.

I would consider a 380. It's going to be a back up. Or for that quick run to the store, and I don't feel like grabbing the G 26

I sometimes carry a .357 Sp101 in ankle holster. I is not as fast as IWB, or pocket carry for me, but often more convenient.

I don't have any light guns. The SP101 is not too big, but it Heavy! Pocket carry is a bit clunky.

I usually carry IWB, and often appendix, but it is not comfortable some times.

I was just checking out the sig 238 and walther ppk 380. Lots of votes for both these guys.

I routinely carry a Ruger LC9S Pro in a Galco ankle glove holster with dress slacks in a very public environment. Great gun.

I carried my Airweight in an Alessi ankle holster for years when I was in uniform, but sold both several years ago. I've been looking at another rig to carry my Kahr on those occasions I have to wear pants.

I've ankle carried a S&W Model 38 and or 49 for years in a Renegade Cozy Partner ankle rig, (no longer in production) and have never had an issue. IMHO ankle carry is a very good alternative when you spend a lot of time seated, such as at a desk, driving a car or perhaps if one is wheelchair bound. Another plus with ankle carry is that if the situation ever arises where you are sitting with your pants around your ankles you have ready access to your handgun.

I'd vote Sig P380 or Kahr CW380 if you want to go with something in .380 ACP. For 9mm, I carry a Kahr CM9. I don't ankle carry much but I did recently pick up an ActiveProGear velcro (not my favorite) holster. Pros: Provides options for both a backup and seated draw (in vehicle). Cons: Maybe it's my setup or holster but by midday I cannot wait to unstrap everything and put it away.

I have tried a g43,LCP,Colt Mustang and a Sig 238,I picked a S&W Bodyguard 380 because of the long double action (dont want a hair trigger single action around the family jewels) and for me I like a last shot hold open.Other things to consider is magazine cost mine is 16 dollars I also like the option of a safty.

How's the trigger on the SW. Is it smooth? Long is ok if it's smooth

I was at gander mountain looking at the kahr, G 43 & 42, sig 238, S&W, they were busy so I couldn't handle any of them.

It was good to at least see them.

The BG380 TRIGGER IS JUST LIKE THE OLD DOUBLE ACTION REVOLVERS,mine is smooth and like you long pulls are no problem as I am a revolver lover.I got mine a Christmas ,have 600 rounds thru her not one FTF or FTE EASY TO BREAKDOWN AND CLEAN ALSO.
