Bladematrix.com, I recently discovered, is the online storefront of a B&M knife store called Cecil Clark Knife Company in Newport, KY (just across the river from Cincinnati). I discovered this while browsing their website, so instead of placing a web order I just took an afternoon and dropped in on them in person.

The store is full of interesting stuff, but the area behind the counter is where the real magic is because that's where all the stock for the web store lives. While I was browsing the salesman behind the counter (the owner, I think) answered a couple of phone calls to the Bladematrix site and he couldn't have been more helpful. One of them was apparently Grandpa's first online order, but the salesman patiently walked him through the process and spent at least 10 minutes on the phone with him.

Once he was free I asked him about placing web orders and picking them up and he said "Just tell me what you want and I'll go pull it off the shelves for you." So I did...and a few minutes later I walked out the door with all these new friends:

Victorinox 10" chef's knife
Victorinox 7" santoku
Queen D2 green burl skinner
Victorinox curved boning knife
Victrinox straight boning knife
Vicorinox hooked paring knife
(2) Mora 546 stainless
Mora 511 carbon

Total cost: $158 + tax. :)

Needless to say, they have an new regular customer. The people couldn't have been nicer and the prices were great...I think he actually gave me a small break off their online prices. My wallet isn't going to be happy that I've discovered a source of instant gratification within driving distance!

Been dealing with Kendal for years:thumbup: If you are looking for something call first and ask if they don't have it they can tell you when it will be in and they do call(or email) when it shows up. They also sell collections so its worth a look through there too.

Just wanted to give this thread a bump; I'm in the Cincinnati area, and visit Cecil Clark Knives often. It's an excellent place!

I usually stop in there once every few weeks when I'm working in the area. Kendal is a pleasure to deal with and you would be hard pressed to find a better shop!

I would also like to say Cecil Clark's is a great place. I was in Cincinnati a while back so I stopped in and had a all around great experience. While talking to the cleark ( sory I forgot his name) I misspoke and called a Military a Paramilitary. He then to my surprise said " Did you want a Paramilitary2?" At the time they were hard to come by so I said yes.On top of him having the knife he gave me a great deal on it ! Great shop!

Great selection, great customer service. You can order online but it is worth visiting and see everything else you can not live without. Great prices.

Great people

I have dealt with them for years and they are my friends! You wont find better people!:thumbup:
