I have to say, from a practicality point of view I think anyone who can objectively use both systems would see the benefits of metrics.. not as a standalone system but how it all relates to all other measures of length, mass, volume. The older systems were developed over time as new units were deemed necessary, and the relationships between units were not seen as important. Celcius makes sense as a 'domestic' use system, but in real terms its crap. Its like having a measure of length and calling the zero point, say, 20 units.
