April 22 is Earth Day and also my birthday. I was fortunate to be able to spend it with Ethan Becker, Doug Ritter and my buddy Phil. The first part is a bit long so you might want to wait to view it until you’ve finished cleaning the garage, fixing the eavestrough or whatever, and need a cold drink and a bit of a rest. I couldn’t decide how to make it shorter, so I left it the way it was, hoping there’s enough bits of info along the way to make it worth the effort. I hope it is anyway. And, as always, my apologies to Captain Airyca.

Thanks bearfacedkiller, glad you like the videos. Yeah, 70 - hard to believe. Hopefully, I'll be around to do a hand drill coal on my 80th and with an intact drill, although then, I'll probably need my little pink fan for real.

Happy 70th..... I hope you live a much longer, happy life and you never catch up to me....I will be 71 on Hiroshima day...... I am delighted that you decided to give us a second chance ..... I woulda missed you....

Happy belated from me as well. Love checking out the videos. Gotta have to come back to 'em when I wanna try to put the theory into practice, so this one's bookmarked for sure! Thanks for sharing, always love hearing you guys talk and have some (very educational!) fun.

Thanks Ethan. I couldn't remember who was older though I thought it was close. And maybe I will catch up - when I was 4 months old you were 8 months old - twice as old as me. I'm slowly reducing the gap :D .

As far as 'second chance' if by that you're referring to me flapping my jaws about Kabar and wildnewfie, that in no way was directed at you, who I have the utmost respect for, nor the Becker sub-forum which I hold in high regard. I hoped I made that clear at the time but I guess I didn't. And I was wrong in any case, since Kabar did set up wildnewfie with his 20. Just a case of me not checking my facts before setting my mouth in motion.

Thanks Gshark. Glad you liked the videos. They were a lot of fun to do as you could probably tell. We always like to try to include a little bushcraft for those that are interested.

I rarely if ever fail to watch your videos.
 
Happy birthday, DOC. Loved what I've viewed so far but I haven't finished cleaning the gutters so they're bookmarked for later. Always puts a smile on my face watching your vids. And you'd easily pass as a young sexagenarian (hehe)....I guess woods time does a septuagenarian good ;).
 
Hey Doc.....
I finally watched the videos...... A great good time I would say..... You and Phil make quite a team..... I love your approach and learned a bit into the bargain.... Thank you..... My friend Dave Marple is dropping by today and I will be sharing them with him..... We met at one of Charles Worsham's fire classes years ago, so these are especially apropos......

BTW, I was saddened by the prospect of your departure from these environs but, I would have understood perfectly......

Always good to see you here and I hope someday to meet you and maybe do a little " woods loafing"or, depending on location "bush loafing"....... Or maybe just have a beer and a talk....
