FINALLY got a new camera earlier today, so i thought i would take some pics of a couple of things. since i'm still experiementing i decided to keep it simple and snap some pics of a blade. ;)

so far, i like this camera alot. it is a tad bulky, but it has a lot of features that i like alot. i can even make it behave alot like an SLR, which is pretty cool. it is the Canon Powershot A590.

anyways, on to the pics:

slightly blurry photo of my fuzz stick. should have pulled out about 2 inches, then it would have focused...

the woods loving putty tat snuggling up on my chopping block while i whittle fuzz sticks:

i will be getting some more photos up a little later on...these are taking forever to upload to photobucket...:grumpy:

my cats always feel the need to sit on my chopping block too... i think i have a similar if not the same camera, and it works great and isnt overly confusing. the knife in the picture looks cool. did you make it?

Congrats Siguy - my daughter has the same camera and likes it also. BTW if using photobucket, be sure to use the bulk uploader rather than the 'choose files'. The bulk loader is way faster even if it is just for one picture and you have to watch the dumb little ad.

barberfobic, yeah i did make it, to be a tester. i also wanted to test out an epoxy-only handle. so far it has held up to everything besides cold temps (a little below freezing) but it could have been a fluke so i reglued and will do some more experimenting.

so far i like the camera alot...one thing i'm puzzling over is whether there is a way to set the resolution lower like on my old camera. my old camera had a max resolution of 6 megapixels i think, but you could set it at 3, 1.5 or "TV". i usually kept it at 3 so that i could get a large number of pics, but they still came out great. i remember way back when, our families first digicam maxed out at 1.4 megapixels...and that was pretty good for the time. amazing how far technology comes in less than a decade...

Congrats Simon  Can't wait to see more of your pics :D That putty-tat looks like quite a hunter.

Congrats Simon - I can't wait to see some good pics of your shop :)

myright...those are embarrasing, i don't know if i would want to share those!

Wait till I send you some of my knives, then you can post a work-in-progress thread with my blades in it :)
