I have what amounts to about $1200 worth of telescope here that I want to get rid of. (actually $1267.92 when bought new in May of 95) It comes with a battery powered base for tracking the movement of the stars/planets. I also have three different lenses for it, the original Celestron 25mm lens, a Meade 15mm lens and a Meade 12.4 mm lens. I have a moon filter also and a basic camera adapter so you can use it with a 35mm camera and take some great up close pictures.
I also have the 45 degree erect image diagonal eyepiece that turns things right side up so you are not looking at everything upside down. Of course I have the original 1.25 Star diagonal that it came with it that is the one that you see everything upside down with also.
Just in the lenses and other filter and adapter stuff listed above besides the original piece I have $476.80 in before taxes. Add that to the $1267.92 for a grand total of $1744.72 total invested in this scope and accessories. (yes I have the reciepts)
Anyway, this thing is pretty much in like new condition. Just dusty from sitting undisturbed for too long. The only use it has seen is that of a place to hang my hat. I even still have the box the telescope came in in the attic which was made for shipping so it can be packed up well. To be honest it is a great spotting scope for hunters that like to monitor such things or just look at wildlife up close without scaring them off, but you can view stars and planets with it too.
I just want to sell it because I can't remember the last time I used it.
$450 takes it all but to be honest I don't really know what to ask for it or what it is really worth. That price may be a deal if you shop around. I doubt that you could buy the same lenses and accessories for that today. If anyone can use it contact me. If that doesn't turn you on make me an offer and we can go from there. I am easy and open to bartar also if it is a knife or three I like.
