Cell Phone Cases & Screen Protectors

I have been an Otterbox devotee for some time, and currently have the ARMOR case for my Iphone.

100 bucks but with it comes peace of mind.

The Commuter is too slippery for me. I use a Diztronic TPU style and love it.

mine resides in a "lifeproof."

a little pricey, but it's a reasonably good one.

be careful about buying it on ebay or anything. bargain hunting for a lifeproof case will not pay off, because there are a ton of counterfeits out there. i'm not exactly sure why.

actually, i think mine is in a counterfeit as well. i have a friend who has the same phone and lifeproof case as mine - he bought his retail at a legit apple store, and his is slightly different than mine.

but even my (potentially) fake one isn't bad, and it's actually waterproof (i tested).

i also have an otterbox defender somewhere that I don't use anymore. it was a good case but i didn't like the all-around rubbery body.

For iphone, you should look into both lifeproof, and indepth cases. I've used both defender and commuter cases on two phones (defender on Galaxy Nexus, Commuter on HTC magic) one thing to keep in mind, neither case really does well with getting jammed into and getting pulled out of tight spaces, as the rubber component pulls away, more of a feature than a bug, but something to think about. If you use headphones a lot, any case will be annoying, but the lifeproof requires you to carry an adapter to plug in, and the indepth does not allow that at all. (although the indepth seems to be more re-moveable, the lifeproof has a limited number of removal cycles.

I use LifeProof for my iPhone 5. I like the fact that it's both totally waterproof but still slim enough to fit comfortably in my shirt pocket. I had to make my own 'dock' for it as the depth of the charging port is longer than most normal docks, and I added a 2" plastic sleeve to the lightning connector to make it easier to insert and remove, but other than that, the case is just about bombproof but still slim.

And otterbox has a great warranty, my second warrantied defender case should be arriving in a couple days. (if I'm that hard on the case, I don't even want to think about what would have happened to the phone by now!)

I used the Otterbox until I discovered the Lifeproof. I highly recommend the Lifeproof.

Just got an email from pelican, looks like they are getting in on the game. So far only iphone 5 cases, but they look good! Lifeproof definatly gets bonus marks for how slim fitting it is. The defender on my Gnexus is very bulky.

Check out Rokform. I've had a V3 on my phone for 2 years and not a scratch. Unbelievable screen protectors too. Not waterproof, but the mounting options are really cool. Also made in California USA.

Was a long time Otterbox user, both Defender and Commuter, but Trident is now my go-to company. Using an Aegis case with a screen protector now on myIphone 4 and definitely has held up better, and feels nicer in hand. Just got one for a buddy with Blackberry Z10 and it's killer too. Have a Lifeproof for those nasty days as well, they are pretty impressive, but watch out for fakes! This goes for Otterbox too.

I have a gel cover on my galaxy note. No damage on the back of the phone after 1 year of use, and the gorilla glass protects the front from scratches. It's not waterproof though.

They are expensive but mine has saved my phone multiple times, look into the vapor pro by element case
