Cell Phones....durability or high tech?

I am due to change and just found out that Sprint dropped the V-950...not too sure what I am going to do now. I want to stay with Sprint but I don't need a phone that does anything but works as a phone. I don't text, surf the web, and I have an IPod...I just want a simple, rugged, phone.

I'm so clumsy I don't dare to get a good one. I've got an old Motorola V170 Tracfone, built like a tank. I've accidently dropped it, stepped on it, etc. The clock on the display is wrong, but other than that, and a ton of scratches, it works fine. I only use it for occassional calls, can't stand texting, YMMV.

The wife and I both have the LG enV from Verizon. I love technology and gadgets of all kinds. I need to stay in touch and very much connected. talking and texting is a huge part of my day. but when we "unplug" and take off for the weeknd in the woods, mountains or exploring, the cell phones stay home or in the car. I told her they are not allowed "off-road" when we are out trying to get away. :D

My brother has an iphone and I can sort of appreciate all that it offers. Unfortunately, they are expensive and the plan you need to use it is expensive.

I'm a regular working man and need a durable phone before anything else. I don't surf the web unless I'm at home and can enjoy all the dirty pics on a full-size monitor!

Right now, my phone's working, but when it does give up the ghost or things get better at work, I'm going to buy an "militarized" phone like the ATT Rugby. It's all I could ask for in terms of durability!
