I bought the knife last week the 2nd day i was playing around with it, and poof...dropped it and the tip broke off. Just about 2 or 3 MM. I don't feel like sending it to spyderco since i live in Canada and i would have to mail it to Colorado. Can the tip be reshapened? It is spyders edge?

Please help....I purchased the item from Ironstone..

Just regrind it. If the breakage really is that minor, put the tip upside down in, say, the fish-hook groove of a stone, and slide it towards the tip a few times. I did this to my Leatherman after I snapped a quarter inch off the tip, as well as an Opinel, just for fun. It generally ends up looking like a modified bowie or reverse tanto. Not particularly pretty, but pointy again. Or, if you want to get fancy, sharpen it on both sides, just like you would the regular edge. Eventually you'll end up with a tiny false edge. This might take awhile with Spyderco's hard steel, though.

Slasher,
I had nearly the same thing happening to me: some IDIOT tightened the screws on an overhead projector using my Endura, and broke the tip off. I just took the whole blade back a bit, which gave it a nice "belly", not unlike the Wayne Goddard Spydies. I had a fully serrated blade at first, but this action caused a 30/70 or 25/75 PLAIN/SERRATED blade as result, and I LOVE it!

Slasher~

We can take care of that for you if you send it in. If you modify the knife yourself you're going to void the warranty, and then later down the road if it ever needs replaced, you'll be cryin' cause you messed with it!

Call me if you need direction on how to send it.
