My local gun shop has a near perfect centofante, I love this knife but the second lock on it is broken. Could I send this in to Golden to be repaired, and how much would it cost? It's in perfect shape not even a scratch on the g10 or blade but the lock doesnt work. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

How about "I never use the second lock on mine anyway"?

Seriously, that Secure Lock is, in my opinion, totally unnecessary. The liner lock works quite well, and the knife is no heavy-duty beater. It has been out of production for several years, so I doubt Spyderco would even have parts to repair it.

I'd agree with yablanowitz in that the secondary lock is just that - secondary. It's a nice extra bit of safety if you're looking for such, but if one of my Centos had a non-functioning secondary it doesn't strike me as something I really think I'd send in for service as long as the primary lock was functioning normally. If it's a case that you want that lock to be in working order because you don't like having any flaws on the knife, I guess that's different, and in that case you're best off calling Spyderco to make an inquiry with W&R about cost and feasibility.

If it's going to be a user probably not worth worrying about.

If you want to throw it in the safe, contact Spyderco before you buy it and see if they can do anything.

Either way, haggle a little with the dealer - technically it is faulty after all.
