Does anyone here know (I'm sure someone does :-)
if the Centofante III is a flat or hollow sabre grind?
Also is it the same for the Centofante IV?

Thanks in advance!

They are both hollow ground.

Another point of interest; they have a blade thickness of 2 mm (thinner than most Spyders), and are excellent slicers.

thanks for the info catamount123... perfect! I like hollow
grinds on thin blades.... usually makes for a great slicer.

I hate hollow grinds, makes for more sharpening sessions for me. I love my cento 3 tho, it's hanging on my waist right now.

I think the Cent 3 and four are two of the best knives in the price range and size range you can buy. I much prefer the Cent 4 but the Cent 3 is almost as good. I just dig the Wharncliff blade of the Cent 4. It can do everything the Cent 3 can do plus a few things it can't.

One thing I have found is that the zip-tie Wave mod work great on the Cent 3and 4. You have to mount the knife tip up but that is good. It solves one of the few problems with these models. The thumb ramp digs into your hand when you reach into your pocket with the tip down carry method. Tip up solves this and lets you do the ghetto Wave as well!

I prefer flat ground whenever I can get them but in a blade as thin as the Cent 3 and 4, hollow ground works just as well.

Working in a knife store I just have this horrible memory of some dumbass coming in and asking me to sharpen the BACK part (the bowie dent) of the centofante 3. People want the weirdest mods on their knives....

I love my centofante 3. It is super light and keeps has a great action to it. Simple and well made for my needs.

LMAO:D If he asked for the "Boye dent" sharpened, he was referring to the notch on the lockbar (that is the Boye dent) that helps to prevent accidental release, and was very much a dumbass, as he would cut himself everytime he closed or held the knife! Perhaps he meant he wanted the swedge sharpened (though he'd still cut himself when the knife was closed, as the swedge is exposed)?;)
