I've noticed that there are quite a few of us makers that live in what might loosely be defined as Central Texas. Any interest in forming a more formal network, maybe having get togethers of some sort, hammer ins, shows, or whatever it is that knifemaker groups do? I'll post this inquiry elsewhere too, and if there seems to be enough interest I'll work on getting something going.

I am in Plano and I would be interested.
I just bought a house and am planning on building a shop. I learned how to grind while I was in the Air Force.

Right now my next course of action is saving up and having my garage wired as I only have 1 outlet with 4 standard 120v plugs on one wall.
2 of the plugs are taken by my Verizon FIOS and by my sprinkler system stup.

It would be great to arrange something so that we can trade ideas and shop stories. Better to stand on the shoulders of giants and all.

I'm only a couple of hours from you and alway interesed in getting together with other makers.Lets see how it goes.

If anyone has connections with the TKCA members, it might be a good idea to let those folks know to see if they're interested. I've not joined myself, but not for any good reason.

Wordsmith, I'm in as long as I can get away from work. A get together would be great. I know Stan's always up for a road trip.

Wordsmith in a couple of weeks I won't be far from you at all. I am moving to Crowley so anytime I am not working I am game for getting together. Just let me know when and where.

Why not simply join the TKCA and help boost the membership roles? The group already runs the Central Texas Knife Show in the spring. If your eager to help, I know that we are looking for volunteers for several positions.
