ceramic belts leaving grooves

I've noticed that my higher grit ceramic belts (45m +) are leaving grooves in my blades. Brand new belts, it's not like a grit scratch, it's more of a couple grooves side by side. Is this a grinder speed issue? I know my grinder runs a bit slower then I could probably handle. I already put a hand sanded finish on the blade so I have no pictures, but has anyone else experienced this?

i have had this. it is especially troubling when you are trying to get a crisp grind line. I just rough it in with the 40grit and finish the bevels on an 80 grit. ( I leave maybe 1/4" to move up when i switch)

I have had this problem before and it was from grind the spine or tang. When doing this it would strip the grit from the belt in areas and that would cause grooves. Also make sure your platen is still flat and square on the top.

Sorry, I dont know if "higher grits" was the proper term.. I guess I mean finishing grits. The numbers on ceramic belts go backwards compared to belts measured in "grits". So, when I already have my grinds pretty much where I need them, and move on to a less abrasive belt to take out the scratches from the rough grinds, I'll start to get some random grooves forming on what is already a very flat and somewhat smooth surface. I hope that explains it better
