I recently picked up a set of ceramic kitchen knives and have been very impressed and so I was wondering if there any g g good edc folders with a ceramic blade about 3-4inches?

Böker makes a few, but while the cutting performance is great, I can't see a ceramic folder being very well suited to EDC tasks. It's just too brittle.

I have carried a Schrade ceramic necker, but I would never subject it to half the things my steel blades do. (The ergonomics are great, though.)

Our EOD guys get a folder issued with a ceramic blade and CF handle. Really thin and light, very sharp...but extremely brittle. I have seen more than a few chipped out.

Schrade has a couple of ceramic folders but they are less than 3 inches.

There have been a few, but none have gotten super popular. An EDC that can be destroyed by dropping is not a big seller.

If you could get one with a Kyocera blade you might have a chance ,otherwise No.

I carried a ceramic Boker for awhile. After I chipped the edge of the blade I put it away. Occasionally I will try to sharpen it. That was about 15 years ago.

Just don't drop it. It easily chipped. And I believe it broke when it accidentally got dropped.

I had both the original Boker and the Spyderco Ceramic (can't recall the Japanese maker that designed it) with the magnesium handle. Neither were particular suited for EDC, the ceramic edges on these particular models were so smooth they wouldn't cut most materials as well as a steel blade.
