I have a friend that has a insulation company , it never dawned on me so i called him. From what i seen K wool only good up to 850 c but this CERAMIC FIBER BLANKET is good for up to 2300 and a continuous use at 1800 . Any one know if this ceramic fiber blanket it better than K wool . From every thing ive seen it is. I also need to find some plistix and reno 3000?? .Will they have stuff like that at as fireplace company???

I found most of what I need at a ceramics shop. They sold and rebuilt ceramic kilns, you may want to see if there is one nearby. I doubt a fireplace store will have the really high temp stuff you need. There are many online sources as well. Seems like the ceramic wool is usable, k wool is used because alot of people have tried it and had sucess and is readily availble, but there are always other materials.

the web site i went to said the applications are for refactory furnace and kiln liners . I also seen on a web site that it said that the ceramic fiber blanket is better than kao wool is that true???
