Ceramic Platen question

Hi, I am in the process of making a ceramic platen for my 2x42 grinder. I was wondering if it would be better to make it a little smaller than 2'' so the belt can fold over a bit for doing bevels. sorry if this has been talked about already. thx!

Does the grinder have tracking capabilities? If it does then you can adjust the belt to go off the side a bit, this is assuming that the platen and the wheels are centered well.

Make it dead on 2" and use your tracking adjustment to move the belt over if you want it to hang off.
