I'm going to be buying my most expensive knife to date and would like to get some opinions. I know these aren't really comparable, but these are the two I'll be choosing from. The Military was my original choice, but I realized that I would be in the range of the a Busse knife (it would be my 1st). I'm in CA and fixed blades need to be completely exposed when EDCing them. This would make the Busse a lot less practical for me to EDC. However, I have other folders to EDC regularly and may just use the Busse for outdoorsy stuff. I really, really like them both. Opinions???

I would suggest a CF BG-42 Military NOW, and Busse later.
BG-42 Millie is an extraordinary and excellent knife, the end of the long Millie evolution, and it is a sprint run - means it could be unavailable (sold) soon.

They are both great knives. I'd say the Mili would be a better cutter and an easier to carry EDC, and the GW would be more stout as an outdoor/camping knife. Can't go wrong with these two.

the Military will soon be gone, and the Mud wardens are already sold out, so you are looking at a slight markup already. Tough choice, so buy them both :p

If I could get both, I'd probably get a larger Busse or a Sebenza.

No contest, get the CF Military! There are a blue million fixed blades out there to choose from and Busse will be making similar knives for a long time. You may have a long wait if you miss out on the CF Military for them to make something similar. I have been waiting for years for another run of the G-10 Police model but it has not happened.
