Here's my latest project up for sale....a JK Last Resort Knife+(LRK+) with handle,fire steel & sheath made by myself.
The steel is 1/8" 01,with heat treat scale on the flats(not under the scales)& a handle of Carbon Fiber/Orange G10 laminate over Black Linen Micarta.
The blade is 3-1/16" & the handle is 4".
The scales are held on with G-Flex epoxy & flared SS tubes.
The fire steel handle is made of the scrap handle material I had left over & also has a flared SS tube.The rod is from Going Gear.(Otter,5/16x4" misch metal)
The rod holder rides next to the sheath & is bent up so it does not pivot on the one screw like you'd think it would.
The sheath's Black front half is a bit smaller than the Orange back for a nice border effect.
All edges are sanded to 400 grit.Tek-Lok included.
The knife's spine & tang are hand sanded to 1200 grit,as is the outer CF portion of the scales.
The rest of the handle is sanded to 400 grit then the whole thing was polished on a buffing wheel.
Lanyard is gutted so it lays flat against the hand & the bead is anodized aluminum.
For disclosures sake ..there is a bit of the front tube,left side that flared out a bit more than the rest.It's at about the 8:00 position in the first-fourth pic & the in hand shot & some marks on the back side of the sheath,most covered by the Tek-Lok.
Also the top left rivet,back side of the sheath,under the T-L split when I set it.
