Cf/s90v 940-1

Oh my god...

Edit: It doesn't say anywhere that's it's a limited edition or dealer exclusive... Standard production CF/S90V?

Not exactly sure but I think the single digit designator after the model number indicates it's a regular production model? Really exciting upgrade to the 940.

Wasn't the -1 -2 -3 thing how they designated the unlimited limited 710s? It was like a limited, but they'd just keep making as many as they could sell in a year?

Hmm... Need to see pics... May be interested... Argh!

I suspect it will look something like this... except with out antennas.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a representative from Benchmade that was tasked with monitoring this subforum that could answer all our questions regarding such things.... Oh wait....

I think an S90V 940 more than makes up for the middling new models planned for 2014 so far. Between an über steel and CF, there isn't a whole lot to complain about here — except the crying noises my wallet is making.

Nice upgrade for the 940. Hopefully they'll bump the Rc up a point or two on the S90V and get right to making a fantastic user. Their folly with lower Rc M4 should've been a lesson. Let's see the price though before I decide.

I for one really don't think 263 is too bad of a price. Considering the 700 dollar price tag benchmade has been putting on recent gold class knives that have similar materials... 300msrp seems like a steal. Farther more, from a manufacturing point of view CF is way worse on end mills than aluminum. Also, from what I hear from many a knife maker, S90V really does eat up the consumables when you're making stuff with it. So it seems, this time at least, I can agree with the increased price. Lets face it... they could have slapped "gold class" on this bad boy and sold it for 600 dollars and people would have bought it. Not me, but some people.

Also hardness wise, the s90v 531-131 was listed at 59-61... I'd like to see a little harder, but we shall see.

Further, anyone with personal experience comparing Benchmades CPM-M4 at 62-64 and S90V at 58-60.

I have never used any S90V but I have really grown to love the edge retention AND toughness of Benchmades CPM-M4.

I know about Ankerson's testing thread.

To all,

What are your personal experiences with S90V?

Thanks,

Kevin

The 940 along with the 707 and 810 are my favorite Benchmades. Ergo, resistance is futile! Add to that S90V and CF. I'm down for two.
