I just bought a CFK Knife on ebay.It has fade spots on the highly polished blade. Is this something I should return the knife for. Thanks for you response.

Wow, this is your 1st ever post in four years - cool! I think I know what you're talking about when you say "fade spots", but pics would be great if possible. A lot of guys are going to say stuff like 'if the spots make you feel unsatisfied with your purchase, then yes...if they don't bother you & the knife seems otherwise solid, then no'. And really, that's my 3-cents as well. I'm assuming you didn't suffer a huge wallet dent for a CFK knife, & that you did some research & are aware of at least some of the CFK threads here on BF?

I'd love to see a pic of the knife, just to see the knife really, as the CFK designs can vary widely - at any rate brother, I hope you end up happy with this knife/situation.

The combined expressions "I just bought a _____ Knife" and "on ebay" usually don't end well. As VanDammet said, pictures are always helpful. It would also help if you could provide the model name of the CKF knife you bought. I've seen some CKF knives being counterfeited, so the first step would be to confirm that the knife is authentic and then go from there.

Good luck!

Lots of CKF counterfeits. The factory just runs the regular knives during the day then they just make the fake ones overnight. Very common thing with Chinese companies that make everything. That's where fake iphones, fake sports jerseys etc come from. Same factory, same machines, just made on off hours and usually lower quality.

As VanDammet pics would help. I have a Morrf 4. It's a great knife. I had a Sukhoi 2.0. I sold it because I didn't think I could ever use such beautiful knife.

There's a thread now on Reviews & Tests about CFK's that would be good for you to read. I wouldn't want a brand new CFK if it had spots on the blade. Are you sure it's a

real CFK? Chances are it might be a fake.. I would definitely return the knife before the seller won't refund your $. The satin blade Shouldn't spots on it!

Wouldn't it be easier to just polish the fade spots? The CFK knives are okay for what you pay for them. I don't believe the steel is D2, as I've left one in a damp wet environment for a few days and examined it each day for rust spots. Nothing. Seems to be a type of stainless steel, but fairly hard and they can be made very sharp. But the blades are horribly ground. I can't get the grind marks out of the edge, so the quality is spotty.

I'm very happy with some of their knives, especially the short swords. No one makes them but CFK.

This is a great CFK knife, with an excellent edge. Can't find anyone else that makes them.
