CFV 4.7 passaround

The 2.7 passaround is about done and people don't seem to have hated that too much.;) Many thanks fellas. It had a subjectively sized handle and a tiny blade that some people love or hate. I have 2 of my 3 4.7's at home right now and unless someone else has a stockpile of chemical strippers and a bottomless well of elbow grease available no one can have my Ugly Betty. That still leaves me another so I think I may as well let it out for people to see what all the fuss is about while they're waiting to receive or buy one themselves. It is the most comfortable knife in its size for my hand. I wish the pommel was rounded but I understand why they don't.

You can review it or not, as you like. Survive!Knives speak for themselves as far as I'm concerned. I hate the negativity permeating this subforum so I hope this adds a little bit of contrast. I reserve the absolute right to deny anybody a part in this passaround but just because I've vocally disagreed with you in the past doesn't mean I wouldn't trust you with it. Send me an email if you'd like, I'm not looking to hurt anyone's feelings. I just ask that everyone send me a copy of your tracking information via email (click on my name and email) and that you insure it when you do so, USPS Priority shipping preferred.

Just post in the thread that you're interested and PM me your address and we'll get this baby rolling. I'd appreciate it if you'd conduct your own communications with the person you'll be sending the knife to, just let me know what the tracking info is and if there are any problems.

Feel free to speak plainly about the 4.7 and anything you don't like about it but complaints about the company in this thread will not be tolerated.

I wouldn't be able until January, will be very busy with work and the holidays. I still would definitely love the chance to get a hold of it and let y'all know my thoughts.

Very cool of you to offer this up thanks brother

Any time man, I'll make you number 697, just behind Silver Needle in the 2.7 passaround :) If it's floating around I should have my 3V back or be able to send you the stripped Ugly Betty by then.

You just can't help yourself, can you, grog? ;)

And hey, orange looks good on you! Now I just need to think up a wicked design and get into the look and feel of leather sheaths!

Bad mojo needs needs a counter. Smart or not, all good with me :) Besides which, this knife is freaking awesome and I genuinely feel bad for people that have ordered it and not gotten it yet. I want to let them know what awesomeness is coming their way.

I have a logo drawn up, I just have to get it into an actual maker's mark. (Not Maker's Mark, which is delicious. And tastes better than chewing on leather. Which I've never done. Really, nope nope nope. Who does that?!)

It's the new pink! Or black, or whatever. I can't keep up. Thanks though!

Sooo... when will you have 4.7 sheaths available? Are you taking orders yet?

Also, 4.1s are evidently shipping amidst the focus on 4.7s and 2.7s so, yeah, gonna need one of those as well...

Also, Grog, is that a Cfv 4.7 you payed for? Because I have that pre-production test-sample that I could offer for the passaround...

I have 2 4.7 sheaths finished. I don't know how to price them, at all. I've seen so many people here get destroyed on backed-up orders and hated because they can't meet deadlines, I don't want to be that guy. I sent a sheath off to our recently departed ,always honest, and usually hilarious Casinostocks. I think he's been scared over to the CPK forums but I don't blame him for that. I think he can give me a good idea how to price my stuff because I have no idea. I don't want to take orders because I don't want to let people down, we'll see how it goes. I see guys like Chuddy Bear over on the Busse forum who seem to just get overloaded and quit talking. I won't want to be that person. I'll make sheaths for knives I like, hope they sell, and see how it goes from there.

That was a CFV 4.7, it's tagged without the 'Mystery Steel' or whatever thing. And holy crap, that Cerakote! Speaking of which, it's just at 3 hours.. jeez.

I just wanted to come in here and chime, blurt, blab, utter, mutter or whatever it was which I had done on here in the past! I'm no longer in patronage of Survive! Knives but since I had kept one itsy bitsy Necker II, ironically with Orange G10 handle scales (the same color as the new Grogimus) it kinda gives me the backchannel rights to come back in here to opine (that's the word I was actually looking for!) once in a blue moon!

Now this fine young man whose name actually rhymes with Man did me a HUGE and PLEASANT surprise by gifting to me one of his custom made sheath, albeit made for another knife maker's knife. TBT, I never had faith in Grogie to do anything right :D but guess what? He surprised the fark outta me by the quality and the detail work which he did on the sheath which he sent me. Is Grogie goofy? Yeah, for sure he is and if he was normal, he wouldn't be giving away and gifting things ranging from his craftwork to sharing his knives, but I gotta tell you that this Grogie of yours (and ours) is one stand up Hombre (well, with the exception of when so drunk that he can't stand up straight).

Order and buy his sheathes you guys and gals as he has a heart of gold and is very enthusiastic about the journey on which he has embarked upon. In closing, did I mention already that he's weird? Well, don't let that stop you. In fact, I will be ordering and PAYING for one of his full on pattern custom sheaths.

I would enjoy a chance to handle this while I am waiting for mine. Thanks for the opportunity.

I have been pondering the 4.7 and wasn't sure I wanted to drop the cash on an Ugly Betty or a used one just yet as I already have a 4.5 and a 4.1 on order. I'm in, thanks.

I would love to do this and would be a great chance for me to add a nice comparison video on my youtube channel of the 5.1 new spec vs this 4.7! Im in, if you will have me :)

I was a little concerned by your post count but they seem like rational posts😉.

You got it.

Finally going to use my CRF UB this weekend motorcycle camping in TN. Coated with mineral oil, so it's food safe and will try to take some pictures (poorly breaking down wood, bad feather sticks/curls, starving because I can't start the fire...bringing a lighter just in case). Not the pass around knife per se, but it's ugly cousin betty who is essentially an identical twin with some internal issues about her name. Handles really soaked in the oil (1/2 gnat hair into handle), got dark and feel smoother...only temporary, but I'm a fan of oiled canvas micarta.

I don't do compliments well, so it's a good thing I paid Mr. Casino Spock for this one. Money well spent!😉

Oh, and I updated the OP with the order sequence. Please make sure you talk with the person following you via email or PM and send me your insured tracking number when it goes on to its next playground. I threw a handful of fatwood in with it, it'd be cool if people take something and put something back in for the next person. Not a requirement of course, just makes it fun.
