Is the swedge sharpend on the Batac? What is the blade length?

"The Chef," the swedge comes to a definite edge but I would not call it sharp as you can run a finger along it without worry of being cut. It could easily be sharpened if desired. It is exactly as it came from the factory and has not been modified or touched up in any way. The blade is 5.0 inches long. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
