Man, I was surprised to see that the FBMLE was in the low vote:thumbdn:

I bet if folks would just suck it up and go beat the thing it would gain the lead real fast:D

+1 for the FBMLE... also they sell for less than the original :confused:Busse price quite often, and the cgFBM sells for more than the original price...

I think its ironic because its the FFBMs that seem to just fly off the exchange...

and CGs just sit there for a while... let alone the LEs which seem to get no love at all. :(

Me... I love a good mistress in all shapes and sizes. :D

Where's the love for the FATTY!!!

I love the Fatty, but it is my hard core chopper and splitter. It is too heavy for slashing and machete work. I think the FBM is a better all arounder. But I don't have my NMSFNO yet!:D

Exactly!

The all-rounder is the key term here.

I had be curious how the nmfbm performed next to the ffbm as far as chopping went, and it's nice to hear that it outperforms the cgfbm and the fbmle. Personally, I never liked how the fbmle felt in hand. it was way to neutral for me, as I don't consider it to be a fighter (at all). I want something that big to be blade heavy.

personally, I vote standard slabbed hogfsh. best feeling knife I've ever handled, even better then the basic9.

I like my cbt cg fbm thin handles and all. The FFBM i had was too heavy to lug around on a long hike. The FBM LE was a runner up! It was balanced perfect and felt light in hand over the FFBM.

Used the CGFBM more than any other I own. Still need to test out the FFBM, like how the scales feel better.

How come there is no option for a SHBM??? :p

More $ than I can come up with now, plus I'd be too afraid to use it. I'd sure like one eventually though. :D

Thanks for the replies and sweet pics. I know the proper thing to do, would be to get one of each. That will take some time though. Just want to get a beater for now, looks like the CG FBM might be the one.

Oh and feel free to throw any other variants in here. What ever you feel is a good all around blade.

I'll have to try the CG FBM again sometime to see how much lighter it feels. But for now I have no weight issues what-so-ever with the FFBM. I hardly notice it strapped to a full pack.

I say get one of each like I did. With the exception of LE's and the SHBM, but I would love to find a SHBM for under $800. I just dont know if I could use a knife I spent 1,400 on.

I don't know what you guys are talking about... I have absolutely no problem with the FFBM, it's not heavy at all...
In fact I would probably buy a thicker BM it Busse made one :D

I said the CGFBM, not because it chops better than my FFBM or NMFBM or my other BM's. But because its the best all arounder and thats what the poll is about.

Its lighter than the bigger boys so it can be carried easier. i got mine in mags:p so it fills the hand plenty. Its still got lots of chopping power and is still just a big brute of a knife. Its also easier to slow down when chopping then some of the heavier ones.

now you need a cg-fsh, cghogfsh, and a moab to complete the fusion set :D

Now we have to remember that the OP was asking about versatility among the 4 models listed and not chopping ability alone. I don't think any of these are going to help with deftly cleaning a squirrel, even though if you were hungry enough it could be done, but I'm thinking of 'primitive camping' and 'fence mending' around the farm kind of stuff. Which one gets the vote along those lines? That's just the way I'm looking at it.

The FAT Beeotch gets my vote! I have absolutely no problem carrying or swinging mine. Not sure what all the fuss about her being too heavy is.

I would jump to by the LE if I had the money though.
