I just received an email from "cha499" about a knife I have for trade here:

Well my BM550 Griptilian PE is Like new condition, but no box kindda lost it already. Carried for 3 occasions only wherein it was all formal night engagements no high-adrenalin stuff absolutely blemish-free and EDGE has never even touched paper to cut.

Let me know, I'm here in saudi arabia so you USPS it to me and I'd to the same for you. I'd send it expedited but no tracking as it would cost me 85$ with tracking, but expedited works great for me just 18days.

Give me your address if you are interested, so that I could ship it out ASAP.

I just thought I'd give a heads up to anyone who decides to deal with him, make sure he's legit. He has three post in different areas of the trading forum, and gets angry when you ask for a picture. A request to ship from Saudi Arabia without a tracking number sounds a little like fish sticks to me...

It's not the asking of the photo that irked me, listen to your tone of voice and the last line of your email. You treat people like garbage, so you deserve to be treated as like garbage as well.

i tend to agree with michael. i would trade with him before i would trade with you. i dont like your tone now cha499. you said you have been a lurker for the past 3 years? why didnt you join back then when it was just as free to join as it is now? you dont have your profile filled out. i myself wont do business with anyone who cant fill out their profile or wont accept email's. i dont blame michael one bit for feeling like he does about this deal. thanks a lot for the heads up on this guy michael.

I understand michaelmcgo's initial hesitancy as well, cha499. And, seeing how you comport yourself here and now, I also agree that I would never do a trade with you unless we had an agreement that I had your knife in hand before shipping out mine.


You may now feel free to insult me, and everyone else who disagrees with you, cha499.

cha499, Michael is just being cautious. I don't see where he was rude in his email to you. You however have been very rude in your posts here. It is against the rules of this forum to make personal attacks on the open forums. It will also make you look bad to those that check out feedback before doing deals with you in the future.

If you lurked for the last three years like you said, did you do any reading of this particular forum? If you had, you would know that Michael is not alone in being cautious when dealing with newbies, or with those that have no feedback. In my opinion, Michael is doing the right thing in being cautious.

Hell yes. I wonder if Cha499 thinks any of us gives so much as a single rabbit pellet about his opinion. I don't know about you but being called a loser by a faceless and immature stranger on the internet just...hurts! :rolleyes:

This is the reason why it I just lurked here for the longest time, I've seen this forum to be very helpful but very strict and lots of people like the one above.

You have reacted incredibly poorly in this thread. It's probably good that you have decided to leave. You have done a great job of looking like someone that members here should avoid trading with.
 
how much you wanna bet chacha isn't actually done and he/she/it isn't out of here?
 
Huh, that was weird. He either doesn't understand English very well, or I don't speak English very well. I didn't think I attacked him, but I can't say I'm too upset that he's gone.

BTW, cha499, these posts don't count towards the "more post" I was talking about. This forum is great, but not if you come into it with an attitude like you have. Getting screwed out of a $80 knife is not fun, and caution should never be misinterpreted as a personal attack. I would not want to be the banker who has to check your credit score. This forum is an excellent way to share appreciation for blades of all types, and if you want to act the way you do, go to Whine and Cheese, and buy a membership (an excellent way of gaining trust around here).

I am very glad I did not complete that trade with you, and if you're still there, meet me in Whine and Cheese, and we'll have it out! But having this conversation in "The Good, The Bad, The Ugly" is kinda bad for your already sketchy reputation.
 
Well most people look in this forum when looking for trades, so I'll post up my experience with him.

He offered me a trade with a description oddly similar to the one he offered to the poster.

Straight trade, my buddy used to have that Mchenry and I wanted to buy it but he never budged so now if you trade it with me, I could get back at him woooohooo..

I'm here in saudi arabia now, so we USPS each other I use the expedited international so within 18days this strider is in your hands. Let me have your address so that I could ship it ASAP.

I ask for pics, and he sends them. Lo and behold, his pictures are cropped/edited/renamed stock photos from this website: http://www.slinco.com/page7.html. Wrong knife too, no less. Looks like he did a Google image search for Strider PT, cuz the following photo is the 3rd result for said image search.
