Chad's Trance

Not Chad, but you're correct, the AO feature was dropped. Actually, from what I remember, it's pretty different to his original design.

Yep, no auto assist in this one. I've been carrying it at least a month. The clip still retains the knife to pocket real well, and the slim profile is so lacking in notice, you have to check to make sure you still have it on you. Carries as easy as a Delica. I like the grind better than the Delica too...certainly cuts bagels better.

Wow, that's a nice folder! Just wanted to make sure tho that the scales are FRN and not G10 (newgraham's site lists G10 for the Subcom)? If it's FRN, that's the nicest FRN I've ever felt...feels as nice quality-wise as most G10 I've felt! How is that?

I wanted to include links to each page, but the URL is always just the index page.

The US website says for the SUBCOM:
"Handle is fiberglass-reinforced nylon."

The german website for what looks like the same knife says:
"der G-10 Schalen"

(you can select English, but the descriptions are still in German)

The Trance description on the German page says, as translated by Babelfish:
"an ergonomically formed grasp from glass-fiber reinforced plastic."

I don't know; is good stuff whatever it is...IMO. :o :D

Hmm...maybe Chad can clarify. But yup, it sure is a nice feeling material, better than any FRN I've ever encountered.

Now, I've been hesitating over the Subcom, not sure if it's too small. But, this one looks nice. I like it and I'm glad they dropped the AO idea, I hate AO on a knife. So, when is it due out?

Chad said here that Boker USA has them in, but I haven't seen any US dealers stocking them, only place I've seen them available is at the Boker.de site, which is in my earlier post.
