Well, as the pictures show, this is a very beautiful piece. It similar in length, 15" OAL, as my first bowie from Bruce but it is 1/8" vs the 3/16" thick stock of the first bowie. Both are balanced right in front of the guard. This bowie is lighter and faster though it loses momentum in fast complicated manuevers.
While my first bowie was designed for and is tested more aggressively, this damascus piece is the only knife I have in my collection that I would qualify as an "art blade." Nevertheless, I have already used it to slash at rolled up newspaper and stacked cardboard. Because of it's thinner stock, it's quite the slicer. I may or may not put in through harder paces later on.
My two young sons love me dearly but they were asking who gets to keep this when dad passes on.
Actually, I have enough of Bruce's work to divide equally to their satisfaction.
