Uncle Bill,

Do you have any Chainpuris in stock? If so, how much are they? If you don't, how much would it cost to have a 15-16 inch Chainpuri made? I know that you need at least five takers on this, so I'm hoping that I'm not the only one who is interested in acquiring a Chainpuri.

Will pictures of the village models be posted to the forum?
Thanks.

And you'd better be fast, or Steven F will buy them all!

Dyad'ko Bill,

If one of the Chainpuri is still available, please reserve it for me(on condition that it is in good condition, handle ok, etc.).

Mike, you'll be happy to know that I'm probably going to have to slow down. Either that or get a divorce or sell my motorsickle. 'Course, that ol' Harley is 10 years old and about shot. Hmmmm, I'm gonna have to do some thinkin'.

Steven, for goshsake, don't sell the motorcycle!
Wives may come and go...but good khukuris and good bikes...now that's another matter.

Yer right, Mike. Me an that ol' Harley have been all over the U.S., into Mexico and Canada, and places where even angels fear to tread. But me an' that bike have a love/hate relationship -- I haven't been on a trip yet that it didn't crap out on me; but, by the same token, I've always been able to make it go -- 'course I carry plenty of spare parts (it is a Harley, after all). But, man, two years ago when it broke down in Death Valley, in the middle of the summer, I pretty much decided that I was gettin' just too damn old for Harleys -- time for somethin' reliable since I generally ride by myself -- somethin' like a Gold Wing, BMW, or even a Guzzi. But, I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of the thing. But, now that I've contracted a severe case of HIKV -- and considering that Harleys are now the yuppie toy of choice (which makes it almost embarrassing for an ol' tattooed guy like me who has been ridin' for 30 plus years to be seen on one) -- it just might be time to consider gettin' rid of the beast. Anyway, I went out and had a talk with it tonight and put it on notice -- if it starts behavin' I'll keep it. But at the first sign of trouble ...

Breaking down in Dath Valley! That rings a bell!

Steven, about 30 or 35 years ago I had walk off and leave a bike in a canyon high up in the Panamint Mountains. Search and Rescue came after me and found me -- I flashed a search plane with the mirror I'd taken off the bike before I started walking out.

The bike was later recovered by some miners from Trona -- four guys, four days to get the bike out which gives you some idea of what sort of territory I'd gotten the bike into -- and could not get it out of. I gave them the bike.

Khukuri FAQ

Few weeks ago I brought my 20" Village Chainpuri back to my hometown - few of my relatives really appreciated it - sharp and strong blade - I cut grass & branches without any edge problem (last year I did the same thing to my cheapie Indian Khuk - it dented & chipped all along the sharp edge! I just gave it to a friend because I don't want to litter it around!). BTW - I have done piling and sanding on the blade and handle - it doesn't look like a Village Chainpuri anymore - it's a beauty! I hope to get one HI made ... insyaa-Allaah!

Uncle Bill,

Is there any chance of starting a thread on who would like to have a HI Chainpuri? How much would it cost if we find five takers? Thanks.

Christian

Please put me down for a chainpuri for anything from 12" to 15".

That's two people so far. Here's hoping more jump on.
