A little word for the wise, learn how to sharpen and maintain your chain!

When you get a new chain back after it's first sharpening, your cutters should not be half gone:eek: ...some places are really good at selling chain:rolleyes:

Most shops will sharpen the chain but fail to file down the rakers. Get a kit from Oregon that has the guide and raker scale so you can do both. Many sharpening shops also will take the temper out of the chain therefore reducing the longevity of the chain

Learn to hand sharpen your own chain It's not that difficult with the Oregon guides to learn with. Also the File handles you can get from Stihl have angles on the end that if you hold parallel to the bar will produce a very sharp chain without using a guide
