Challenge Coins?

I will see what I can do:thumbup::thumbup:

I will talk to the Big Boss Man:thumbup:

I like the idea of a show coin.

But here's my question; has anyone here actually ever seen, instigated or participated in a coin challenge/drinking? Or is really more a matter of being prepared for it in the unlikely event it occurs? (like the zombie holocaust).

Yes, I have.

Me to. I also use mine for a game called spoof.

a coin is no good, don't be a wimp, whip out your Busse knife and throw that out on the table...:)

Sweet, thanks a bunch Amy. I will make sure to bring a case of Coors Light to Blade with us. :thumbup:

Whoever did the coins for Dan with the Scrap Yard coins did a really nice job.

My understanding is that challenge coins date back further then WWII or WWI.
The challenge portion maybe traced to the past century however, the object of the coin as proof of part of a campaign is actually part of Roman times. This is where the part of the "challenge" is. Generals cast coins (with their likeness) from the loot their campaign gathered then distributed it among the troops, often conscripts, as a sign of gratitude and as (PRETTY MUCH AS THIS IS) payment. Sometimes they would also distribute the coins to the populace (politics-votes-popularity-etc).
So as years went by, proof that you had been part of a campaign was the possession of a coin (that wasn't "tossed to the masses") from that campaign.

As far as a "Busse" challenge coin - great idea!

I have a Scrapyard coin (#94) in my pocket right now. An INFI coin would go well with it!

Every other day when I was with th 10th SFG 30 years ago in Bad Tolz Germany.

I would be in for a challenge coin made of INFI....... That would be quite sought after I think.
