Challenge Pen knife

Smaller than I'd prefer to carry but still very cool. I wouldn't mind owning that one. Any plans on restoring it?

God I hope not! "Restore" it to what? It's not a table with a layer of varnish you can redo -- all you can do here is remove more of the original surface.

You mean stripping off the character that's taken over 50 years to build up?

Good lord, pass the smelling salts, I feel the vapors coming on!
:D

Pens are becoming one of my favourites. It's THE pocket-knife, slim, elegant but entirely useful:thumbup: Fine bone on that one, a choice knife.

Don't let the size fool you. That knife is as good as any for a multitide of chores. Nice one Vince.

Heh, I thought I thought I had missed something when I heard 'restore it'. :D

Man, imagine the stories that knife could tell if it could talk!

If it could talk,it would say,"Im now finally safe, inside this box", "hey, wait,is this my coffin ?" lol

Thanks for the replies & enthusiasm. While I always dabble in & out of alot of different types of knives,my true love lies in modern custom handmade knives.
But w/ you see one like this come around, the seller had real poor pics & a very basic description,it is a chance to take, hoping it would be as decent an example,as this.
He listed it at 2.5" closed,so the 2-3/8" actual measurement, was kindof like a bonus

Vince, thanks for showing us this finely made Pen knife. Vintage American and British Pen knives are some of my favorites to collect. the skill required to make these smaller knives is considerable and the vintage ones usually show meticulous attention to details. i've read that in their day the selling price was often higher than for the larger Jacks because of the difficulty and extra time required to build them. Most collectors today prefer larger knives which is just fine by those of us who like these fine old Pen knives.
