Found a champion blower today. Was curious about i should offer for it. I have found a few posts, around the web, that say between 75 and 150 is a good price for one not rebuilt. This one has not been rebuilt. I want to offer a fair price. Any help will be appreciated. It is in good working condition but paint is gone and it has an obvious oil leak in the gear box. Original stand is with it and also in good condition, no paint and some surface rust. Thank you

If it is on a stand, it might be worth a bit more. The gear boxes don't seem to be sealed. So having to much oil will result in a leak. How smooth does it turn? Does it have the counter weight on the handle? I offered $100 for one that was not on a stand, but in good shape. The owner countered with $125. I let it pass as I haven't seen many stands by them selves. The only new parts that are available are the bearings. Everything else is salvage antiques. $150 is a fair price.

It turns freely and is pretty quiet. No counter weighted handle. The owner is a mother in law to a good friend, so i was thinking offering 200. Only bc of who she is. They are looking at ebay prices to figure worth...

If they are using eBay for pricing remind them that they won't be paying eBay and PayPal fees. Plus they won't have the inconvenience of shipping plus those fees.

I saw one on CL for $325 a few months back. It had been cleaned up and painted. It was on there for a couple of months. If you are going to be using it then the extra $ you spend on it is negligible over the next couple of decades. If it holds together.

In case someone is interested, there is a manual blower imported from India. Zomax, I think. It does not have the nostalgia or the weight but is purported to work well.
