I'll Second that.:cool::thumbup:

I like the Gerber USA knives too, when I can find them.

Looks solid to me! Great steel, nice blade shape, slabs held by hex-screws. Not so sure about how comfortable all those ridges are in the tang below the handle. I'd prefer the slabs and tang to be flush.

The non-gut hook version appears to have a hollow grind while the Gut-hook above looks flat....Flat would be preferrable.

Good price!

I also like this version, S30V and cocabalo. Cabellas also has the folder version.

Why must soo many decent designs end up with a hollow grind? Such a waste...

Ditto the ridges at the handle though, a simpler design would be cheaper and more comfortable.

aint that the truth, and I dont know if I would put up with the guthook or not, I did with my revolver H, I use the gut hook for small limbs pencil sized, makes great points.

Oh I think I can live with that one - certainly aesthetically I can!!!!

I use to love Gerbers years ago. Pretty much stay away from them as quality blades these days. Too gimmicky. Also have had problems with their multitools. I guess like anything there are exceptions. Just my.02.

YYEESS, SP can you imagine that with a full flat grind, or even SCANDI!........ yeah I know.

They're garbage compared to a Bark River, Fallkniven or a good Scandi.

how do you see garbage? of course they dont carry the name of BRK&T, or fallkniven, but this knife in particular has its faults gauranteed, that doesnt make it garbage.

I don't know. I used a Freeman for two years and it did very well. It was a low maintenance blade, stayed very sharp.

As did I, not for two years mind you, but it held up farly well.

the non-gut hook version that i held in the store was saber flat ground, not hollow ground. sharp edge on it too, i don't know if that was straight out of the box or if they sharpen up their knives for display, but it was sharp.
