change is good

..but i do see a lot of knifemakers with a pic of their work in therir sig line, ususally with a link to their knife page or some contact info. These little icons make me go check out their work if they have an appealing knife depicted.

Just something to consider.

Thanks, Ferrous....I'll give it some thought....need something snappy, though....not run-of-the-mill...

hmmmm.......................

I've always just thought of you as "Dan Dan The deep dish pizza man" ;)
...uhmmm, who likes to play with the long, sharp, pointy things.

works for me, Bill....:D

Tomorrow, I'm going to a mall in Northern Virginia that has a pizza shop there where the crust is an inch-and-a-half thick...It's too far away to just show up on a lazy Saturday afternoon....but whenever I'm in the area, that's where you'll find me for lunch......ahhhh......mmmm......hungry now....

Daniel, I know you better now than I ever did, and my respect for you just keeps growing.

Koster or Coster, Laurens Janszoon (lou'rəns yän'sōn kôs'tər) , c.1370–c.1440, Dutch sexton of a church in Haarlem, one of the men to whom has been ascribed the invention of printing with movable types. His name was Laurens Janszoon, but he is known by his office, as Koster or Coster [sexton]. The evidence that his printing with movable type preceded Gutenberg's is inconclusive.

So then, "sexton" is the derivation...
From GURUNET: sex·ton (sĕk'stən)
n.
An employee or officer of a church who is responsible for the care and upkeep of church property and sometimes for ringing bells and digging graves.

Over time some things just never change ainnit? :p ;) :D

Yep....I know 'bout ole' Jans & the press......and the meaning....glad to hear it again, though. A Dutch variation is Koester.

Do I have to tell folks now "Now, this really cool looking and highly useful knife over here is called the "Dan Knife"?

If Dan gets a modified AK Bowie or Saeux (sic) into a cleaver out of HI in a special project, it should have his name. On the other hand, since he invents blades and D A N can only be used once, he may want to save it for a nobler push.

GRAVEDIGGER

Ilike the sound of that. It makes you sound like a monster truck.

How much does it cost to have bruiselee banned ?
Can I have him banned as just a favor?

Uncle Bill,

As a 61 year old CEO I sympathize with your position. You have many good friends on this Forum. But the big decisions still lie in your lap. Your leadership.

As Tony Soprano says, "It's not easy being Number One."
