Change scales to titanium on PM2

Again you guys are awesome! Zipped some additional zip ties onto the one between the scales and liner and then tossed it in the freezer.. about 20 seconds of working it and they popped off... reassembly was... tedious... took me about 2 hours to get it out together perfectly, but it was so worth it... free dropping and everything is aligned and centered... I love it

Looks great! I'm glad everything came together good for you!

Are those the bead blast Flytanium scales?

They came "polished." I didn't like that at all - didn't look great and was too slippery. I originally blasted them with glass beads but wanted a little more tooth in the finish. That's 80 grit aluminum oxide.

That's exactly what I did to the set I have, left them bead blasted anyway.

I want a titanium carry as well. I was hoping to find some Yojimbo titanium scales... if not I'll buy another PM2. I love the bead blasted look!

The finished product. I CANNOT get photo image to post, so hopefully the link will take you there. I started this post on April 1 with a question about removing the existing scales from a Spyderco PM2. I got lots of helpful replies. I ended up working the scales off the lanyard hole sleeve by hand, twisting the scales and applying force. It took a while but I did not damage the sleeve. I applied two Flytanium scales and a custom titanium clip (don't recall the supplier), anodized "blue denim" at Ti-Survival. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder so the knife may look ugly as sin to some, but I like it. I thinking now about possibly sending the blade out to be stonewashed or acid stonewashed and professionally resharpened. Has anyone done business with Urban EDC Supply? I have some concern that stonewashing would wipe out the Spyderco stampings on the blade but can ask them about that. Thanks for any feedback.

I think it turned out great man! It's so much fun customizing the knives we love, especially ones like the PM2 that are such a value.

Is there anyone that makes copper scales for the PM2? I might actually carry mine if that were the case, lol. I should just get rid of it already and quite talking ish about it. Haha.

Thanks to bikesandblades for the compliment and to vanslem6 for putting the actual photo here. I thought I could "copy" the photo from Imgur and "paste" it to the comment area. Nope. The instructions referred to "BB Code" but I couldn't find it so just assumed I was stupid and gave up.
