Don't pull your 401K, it will pay dividends later. The hit is more like 35%-your tax bracket plus the 10% penalty for early withdrawal. Most people fall into the 25% bracket. Roll it over into another investment that will grow. You can ask for the rollover docs and you have 60 days to find something to put it in before the penalty hits. Your best bet depending on your age is to convert it into a ROTH IRA investment vehicle or leave it where it is if it is not losing in this market. There are many growth mutual funds out there that work well, even in a bad market.

Very good advice for you! Also, listen to "Money Talk" with Bob Brinker, online. He's very knowledgable on market issues, funds, etc. Has a lot of good advice and it's free. Hes not marketing anything via his program. It's very interesting.
