Changes to BF account

Interesting. Thank you for the clarification, Boru13.
I paid the $75 fee just so I wouldn't step on any toes. I certainly don't need any more business.

Your welcome Bill, apologies for the confusion.

FYI for everyone involved, @Spark has edited the wording in the Paid Subscription page concerning Knifemakers and their ability to advertise.

As of now, the dealer section still states "A Dealer Membership is required to advertise or mention your retail website in any fashion." That, combined with Bladeforums' track record of applying the more restrictive interpretation of the rules in case of ambiguity, makes it perfectly reasonable for one to conclude that they must have the Dealer membership in order to list/mention their website.

A better way to communicate the different tiers/restriction is to do what every other business does, which is make a chart. Membership tiers would be the columns, features/permissions would be the rows. If needed, add a Yes/No flow chart to help people figure out what membership tier is most applicable.

Phew had me worried for a bit. I probably wouldn’t re up at $350 either. Thanks for the clarification Boru13 Boru13

Of course it still states that a Dealer membership is required to advertise or mention your retail website, that's still true.

The Knifemakers, Craftsman, Service Provider membership NOW clearly states that these memberships can advertise their websites also, that's what was in question and the purpose of this thread... not sure how much more clear this can be made.

Born - I think the problem is that that wording can be interpreted (if you don’t read the other levels wording) as saying that the dealer level, and ONLY the dealer level can advertise their website. Perhaps a clearer wording could be “MAY advertise their website”. That does not, at least to me, come across as being so restrictive.

fwiw

I really like how pricing structures for other services are laid out. With columns for each pice lv and rows of all the options. Then you just look to see if your plan has check marks on the services you want.
