Changing EDC

Yes, I have changed my EDC. Sometimes a knife can change my average carry - like, if I am going out-out, my carry for a few months ago- Cruwear PM2 as a main knife, a smaller fifth pocket knife like a Cricket or Chaparral (though I'd like to start using more quality slipjoints like a Buck stockman or red micarta GEC), an emergency knife like a Matriarch 2, and a Leatherman Wingman or Wave. I sometimes still carry a Leatherman, but my true daily carry now is a Victorinox Super Tinker or Camper (though I feel like a Fieldmaster/scale swap with my white ones is in my future. I made the switch largely because of the weight, and how useful per oz and compact a good SAK can be. I used the awl to poke a hole in my belt before I left home yesterday. Great awl.

I still carry my Leathermen sometimes, like yesterday. I did not bring a SAK because I was helping my fiance's relatives pack/move and I thought I might need more tools and did, so I wore that on my belt, with just a Shaman and a Police 4, could have honestly gotten away with just a Police + tool, that knife is so good. The Police 4 has been the only knife to kick a regular pocketknife like a PM2 (Or Native, or Shaman) and an emergency knife like the Matriarch 2, both out of my pants for a while.

I always have a SAK or multitool, so that isn't a thing that can be "kicked out", but, my lightest carry this week that I was completely happy with was just the serrated K390 Police 4 and a SAK.

Does so because it hits a few sweet spots: first, it's just small, light, and colorful enough to pull out and use as my day-to-day pocketknife and a veeeery good one at that, awesome serration pattern, while being able to be Emerson waved and used as an emergency knife. For example, my Voyager Tanto XL from Cold Steel at 5.5in is a great knife for all-purposes, but is simply a lil too intimidating to use the same way as publicly.
Of course, like I said, I usually like to have a bit of variety, you know, my fifth-pocket knife will be rever-S or Wharncliffe... but I could totally feeling

Man, I once counted... three Stockman slipjoints, an OT folding hunter, a couple SAKs, multitool and necknife (The fact that you carry such I find absolutely awesome). At eight, that point, I would just totally give in and carry whatever and however many I want short of what over-encumbers you. 😁
Speaking of, belt carry def helps with weight issues for me. Ever added up your oz? Cause I notice you carry pretty light even if they're a lot of knives.

I do that, by the way - carry a knife that is new/I'm not sure about, basically "lesser" along with a tried-and-true to test it out and see how I like it, sometimes switching knives during the same task to see how they perform. I'd totally recommend carrying random different styles and patterns with your stockman - I love my cotton sampler from Rough Ryder for occasional use just for fun. and certain tasks.
I've never added up the total ounces. A few times when I took the knives out of my pocket and off my belt when I get weighed on the 15th I "magically" lost 3 to 4 pounds. 😳😁
Some of my stockmans are "somewhat" light weight. The Bick 301 and 371's for example weigh a little less than the larger ones. I'm pretty sure my Schrade+ 858 stockman is the heaviest of the bunch, a little more than the import 858OT and 858OTB, I believe ... Yude think the OTB with fake Delrin real bone covers would weigh more than the one with genuine Delrin ....

I think I am going to return to the belt though. Back still hurts with suspenders, and worse, I can't carry everything I want to wearing suspenders.
