Changing the thread title?

Can the thread title be changed once it has been posted I know you can edit the post itself but I see no way to change the title. Just wondering

Mouse over "thread tools". A drop down menu is produced.
Click "Edit Thread". A popup appears. It gives you the option to change the title.

It is admittedly somewhat obscure.
