i was thinking about how ridiculous it is for places to outlaw/prohibit knives with locking blades, and i was wondering if we could start calling them safeties(sp?) istead of locks, maybe people would look at it differently, especially since lock kinda has a negative connotation with it, and sheeple seem to really love anything thats 'safe'

so how about it, does anyone think doing something like this could help?
is it worth doing?

Hi I don't think that calling a lock a safty would help with the sheeple since they don't understand what the lock is there for in the first place. They don't try to understand knives they just view them as weappons not tools. I even have family members who cringe when I open one of my knives to open something up.Maybe it couldn't hurt, anything but tactical.

Cool idea. Sheeple just love safety. But we might have to keep a tight rein on it, or before too long, we'll have an official set of regulations defining what a "safety" is, how big it should be, how many palms need to be greased before the "safety" can be approved for inclusion in a knife, etc.

But hang on, this just occurred to me. Don't guns have "safeties" as well? So why are sheeple still opposed to guns?

Maybe we should call them "Anti-Death Devices".

I think that's an inspired idea, but how would we do it? How do we change the wording used by so many (and bear in mind taht some autos already have "safeties" in another sense)? I don't think this vocabulary would catch on, unfortunately.
