Characteristics of 6A steel

Can anyone tell me the characteristics of 6A steel? How does it compare with other commonly used knife steels?

While I'm at it... does anyone know of a web site that has a comprehensive listing of steels and their characteristics?

Ahhh... so 6A is Aus-6. Thanks for the info.

My general impressions are as follows:

-Very Stain resistant
-Easy to sharpen
-Is a little low in the edge holding department
-Only found on low-medium price production knives
